Both are flagship-tier Roland kits with digital pads, but the TD-50KV2 steps up to the top TD-50X module, a four-tom layout, and a real wood-shell kick.

The TD-27KV2 is the smarter buy for most players: you get the digital snare, hi-hat, and ride and Bluetooth at a much lower price. Step up to the TD-50KV2 only if you want the flagship TD-50X module, the 18-inch wood-shell kick, the fourth tom, and the larger 16-inch crashes - it is the better instrument, but the gap in feel does not match the gap in price for everyone.
